Buen Camino – 19 km – Santa Mariña
And I thought I have holidays. I left the Albergue in Negreia with Andrew, Holly and Steph.
After 15 minutes walking we realised that we lost the Camino, too long walking on the road. I looked at my app and yes the Camino was left from us in the forest. But we couldn’t reach there from the road. Anyway after around 1 km the Camino came back to the road and we followed. Not long after I said “It starts raining a bit.” Andrew said “What makes you think like that?” “Just a feeling” I said. We got our backpack rain cover out. Five minutes later the rain got stronger. We got our raincoats out. And then it really started raining, not just a drizzle but heavy rain and wind. For the next five hours!!!
My North Face raincoat doesn’t protect well anymore, is too old. Andrew’s rain poncho works better. I was completely wet, shorts , T-Shirt, underwear, was wearing my cap under the hoodie.
We had a coffee and a bite to eat here. The only break today.
Not much going on today. Trees and corn fields.
After having a shower and some lunch resting now. I will fall asleep soon. Isabel and Christin had some lunch here, they will walk 12 km more to Oliveiroa. Steph is heading to Lago today, 7 km more. Amy and Grace stay also here. So we all can have our dinner together.
