Buen Camino – 3 km – Finisterre
No need to wake up early this morning. I woke up at 05:20. Used to walk early. There is not much to walk today. 3 km to Finisterre. Take my time this morning, no backpack needs to be packed. Feels different after 41 days.
Andrew and I left the hotel for breakfast. Some coffee and toast, a visit in the supermarket. Asking somebody where we get our Compostella. The tourist office is providing this. It’s a beautiful one, nice to keep for memories.
The first day I was walking without pain killers, doesn’t work well, strong pain with the sprain in my left ankle. Got some pain killers from the pharmacy. It will heal faster when I am not more walking.
I was dealing the first two weeks with pain because of wearing the wrong shoes. And I was dealing the last two weeks with pain, a sprain in the right foot and then in the left foot. I will not complain about this, it was it worth every moment. There were people on this Camino, while I was walking, with much more issues. 🙏🏻
Back to the hotel and getting ready for the really last walk up to the lighthouse and 0 km stone.

While making these photos I put my walking pole on the side against a rock.

I turn around and the walking stick is gone. Just the water is there. Shocked ☹️ Andrew went back where we came from, watching everyone leaving. I went to the other side at the end of the world. Walking around looking if someone had my walking stick. And then I saw a guy at the wall and my stick. He just wanted to leave, I grabbed my stick before him. Asked him why he took my stick, he apologised saying he just saw a beautiful stick there on the rock. What a weirdo. Anyway my stick was back 😄

Back to Fisterra. Had some pizza with Andrew, then to the hotel. I jumped into my broken pants and went down to the beach. Had a nice refreshing swim and a walk on the beach.
Back to hotel, a shower to remove sand and salt and had a nap.
Going out with Andrew now for the last dinner. We found a really nice Restaurant today having Pizza already. Will go there again.

The last evening on the Camino with Andrew, Anna and James. I met so many lovely people, listened to so many different stories and experienced myself in so many ways. This Camino was just special.
