Words are like removing a thorn with a thorn
I met Konstantin again in Tasty cafe. He left Ukraine 30 years ago, lived in the United States, and since 10 years in Austria now. We had some breakfast, and then I gave him a lift on my scooter, driving for Satsang. It was his first time joining Satsang with Amma.
The questions people are asking are the same as the last 45 years of my life. Different variations, different answers. With words, you can play in many ways. We are all looking for answers, although we should know that all answers are just like pointing to the moon.
A lady then asked – you said recently, excitement comes from the mind. Where do feelings come from?
Amma smiled and responded – the same place. They come from the mind as well. Of course, there are pure feelings too that arise directly from the self.
A gentleman asked – what is pure love or love in general? It has been my experience that love between two people, for example, is purely transactional. As long as it benefits me, I am into it. If it doesn’t benefit me anymore, then I am no longer interested.
Amma responded – love is the basis of the universe, it connects everything. Love comes from pure being. Where there is inclusiveness but no division, and only unity, that is love. If you see love as transactional, then you are limiting the existence of pure love from being.
The gentleman followed up – can this love also be called peace?
Amma responded – yes.
Another lady then asked – could you talk about the soul?
Amma smiled and responded – I don’t know what the word means. Soul sometimes refers to different individuals as separate identities. But they all arise from the supreme soul or supreme self. In the supreme soul, there is no more differentiation, division, or separateness.
A lady then asked – could you talk about unity consciousness?
Amma smiled and responded – what is unity consciousness? It is just another term, isn’t it? Consciousness is that which unites everything.
The lady followed up – for example, I feel the pain of a tree being cut down and some of the injustices being done to the earth.
Amma responded with a nod – yes that happens. It is the interconnectedness of things that makes you feel that way.
Amma then said of her own accord – they say, “unity in diversity”. But it should really be “diversity in unity”. Diversity appears on the base of unity. You cannot go looking for unity in all the diversity.
I got a new bedsheet and pillow sheets today, which makes my room more comfortable somehow, a fresh design.

In the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit, swastika means “well-being“. The symbol has been used by Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains for millennia and is commonly assumed to be an Indian sign. So don’t mix it up with the Nazi Germans, they were just copying and misusing it.
I was driving for lunch into town, Satveet Restaurant, my favorite Masala Dosa place. But they didn’t have it for lunch, so I ordered vegetable pulao. Additionally a chapati with other stuff, which was quite a lot then.

Vegetable Pulao
I thought it was a good day to visit the Arunachaleswarar temple. It’s quite impressive as there are 4 huge monuments. Coming inside was quite easy today, not so many people queued up, but inside the monument, there were many people in long lines slowly processing to the center.

Indians love to make photos with foreigners, so I had some photo sessions today 😄

After getting out of the inner temple, I was just following the crowd. But it was the wrong exit. My shoes were on the other side of the temple complex. So I had to walk barefoot through the roads around the temple complex. It’s nothing special, lots of people are barefoot anyway.
It started raining when I went back to my scooter. I got quite wet while I was driving. Back in my apartment I changed clothes and fell asleep.
So now I am back to an awake state and writing some lines. Maybe I watch a movie later.
