Strength in Spiritual Path

When ‘I’ without any attributes is meditated upon, mind comes to stillness. But mind cannot stay there and comes out with a force to catch an external object (vishaya). Bringing mind back again to the pure ‘I’ is vairagyam.

Kabir left in the morning for the hospital, to take care of his cut in the neck. He wants to meet Dieter, a friend from Germany, later at Dmellos in Candolim. They are going to play Backgammon there. I was writing my daily Blog this morning and updated the Linux system on my laptop.

I also left for Candolim Beach around noon. I arrived there at 12:30, but I didn’t see Kabir and Dieter. Later, he told me that he had just left before 12:30 after winning five times in Backgammon. I found a deckchair and relaxed for a while. I was reading, then I left for a walk along the beach. Walking south, there are many more shacks, people, and deckchairs. They offer parasailing and jet skiing in some places. I walked for maybe 20 minutes, then I turned back. It was quite hot walking in the sun, fortunately, I had my cap on my head. I went into the water, but again there were high waves and a strong current. Later Kabir told me that Kerry once got his shoulder broken here. I lay down again and talked to the woman next to me. She also came for the first time in the 1970’s to India, she is French and her German husband was working in the embassy of New Delhi. Now she is retired and enjoying Goa in January and February, the cold wintertime in Germany.

When I look at my weather app it seems to be cold in Portugal as well. It’s coming close to 0 degrees at night.

Just two more weeks before I have to leave India because of the expiration of my visa. On Sunday I will book a flight from Goa to Colombo In Sri Lanka. It might be that Kandy in the center of Sri Lanka will be my first destination. I was reading that it is a beautiful trip by train from Colombo to Kandy.
