Strength in Spiritual Path

Even when the world shakes, keep your attention on the unshaking Truth. That is the only protection you have.

Rohit made a breakfast for us this morning. Some toast and fried eggs, a salad. It’s nice to have some friendly and smart people around. No beach this morning, I was working again on my laptop. We decided to have a late lunch in Vagator, there is this small Restaurant where it feels like home-cooking, I have been there with Kabir before.

Preparing breakfast

We left before 15:00, four people on two bikes. Kabir and Megha were in front of us, suddenly Kabir turned, he forgot the Backgammon board. Rohit and I headed to Vagator for the small Restaurant whose name I forgot. We asked for a chai first, and not much later Kabir and Megha arrived. We ordered some dishes with rice and chapati to share. It was again delicious. Then we started for the beach, just five minutes more to drive. It was Sunday and crowded as usual on Sundays in Vagator. We found a spot to park our bikes and went along the beach to the Sunset Shack. We got two deckchairs and two chairs, and Kabir and Megha started playing Backgammon. We ordered some drinks, and later some Pakoras to eat.

I was booking tickets for Sri Lanka today. I have to get a taxi early, at 04:30 in the morning, to Dabolim. It takes around one hour to reach the airport, the flight is at 07:50. There is another airport in the North, in Mopa. But from there are only flights to Bangalore available, from Bangalore then to Colombo. It takes around 20 hours. From Dabolim, I can fly to Chennai and then get a connection to Colombo. This only takes me 5 hours, I will reach Colombo at 12:50. From Colombo I will take a train to Kandy in Central Sri Lanka, only a two-hour, thirty minutes drive.

These cows are everywhere, they are very relaxed

Around 18:00, 30 minutes before sunset, we left. Rush hour, it was already not easy to get my scooter out between all the others. There was chaos on the road, some people were even trying to reach this place by car, which is not a good idea as there is no space to park. Rohit was walking up the road. I was driving u the road around 50 meters and looked out for Rohit. I couldn’t see him, so I left the scooter to look around. I didn’t see him. When I wanted to start the engine it didn’t start. I was already thinking about how to continue now. But after five or six attempts the engine would start as usual, no idea what it prevented before. I found Rohit and we stopped again at the Pani Puri stand. Kabir and Megha were already there. Rohit and I had some Pani Puri, and Kabir chose an ice cream. Then we headed back, Rohit and I took the wrong turn and suddenly we were in Chapora. We looked at Google Maps, and yes, it was in the wrong direction.

At home we rested for a moment, and then we had a shorter evening Meditation, it was already a bit late.
