WHAT IS BUDDHAHOOD?

What is buddhahood? Becoming aware of the inner sky that was in the rock, in the animals, in the trees, in man and in woman. Once you become aware of that inner sky, you are released from all forms. That is freedom. Not that you become free, because in that freedom you don’t exist, you can’t exist.

“You become free” simply means you become free from yourself.

It’s another morning in Papaji Satsang Bhavan. I had my morning meditation in Papaji’s Meditation room. It’s refreshing just to sit and breathe here. The house is very quiet, I had a shower, and was reading and writing for a while. After 09:00, I walked to the kitchen. Deepak was there in the meantime, he arranged a breakfast with toast and fruit salad for me. After breakfast, we had a Puja, a small celebration honoring Sri Ramana Maharshi and Papaji. Papaji was a disciple of Sri Ramana Maharshi. Puja involves rituals, prayers, songs, and offerings. These offerings often include things like flowers, water, food, and light. It’s a way for devotees to make a spiritual connection with the divine.

Amar and me

I had issues with my left eye today. It was leaking and itching. I think it’s too dry sometimes, I got some eye drops for it, but I forget to use them sometimes. It could be triggered by the fans, which are running everywhere, and there is a constant air circulation. Later Amar got me with his bike to Papaji’s house. Usha is living there, she is the daughter-in-law of Papaji. She was the wife of Papaji’s son Surendra. One of her employees welcomed me at the door. I stepped into the house and saw Usha sitting there. She is a lovely elderly woman, it was easy to contact her. She was telling me a lot of life stories here with Papaji when there were many foreigners around. When Papaji was quite old in the 90s, Satsang would be in his house instead of in Satsang Bhavan. It is just around one kilometer away on the same road in Indira Nagar. We had a nice conversation for a while, mostly she was talking. Then she showed me Papaji’s bedroom and the room where Satsang used to happen.

I was sitting for a while by myself before I joined Usha again. The doorbell was ringing, and another granddaughter, 3rd generation, came to visit. Her name was Sheetal. She is a doctor in Punjab. Befor I left they ordered a Rikshaw for me, the first electric one I was carried in.

Usha and me

Back in Satsang Bhavan Deepak prepared some lunch, delicious as usual. It was time for Siesta, and I slept for a while. Late afternoon, I walked out again, just to move a bit. I had an ice cream on the road. Coming back, it was already time for dinner. Deepak prepared a pumpkin-carrot soup, and Amar just had to warm it up. Amar was curious about my life, I showed him some photos from my Camino pilgrimage in 2023 in Spain. It was time for me to rest again. I have a comfortable spacious room and bed. I am enjoying my time here.

I have to prepare for my journey to Nepal. Still don’t know how long or where I will go there.
