Our whole life is like a puzzle 🧩, with each part it is getting more complete. We cannot dismiss any part of it. We will only see the whole picture when it is complete.

Now my plane has departed already, and I have to find another solution. I was looking for an information counter. There was one on the other side of the hall. I asked the woman behind the counter what I could do best now. She said the best is to get a new ticket and try to get a refund from my agent for the old ones. There were three counters with airlines. Pegasus Airlines, Aegean, and Turkish Airlines. I chose Turkish Airlines. I spoke to the woman and she booked a flight with LOT, Polish Airlines, for me. I could go directly to the check-in. The flight would not be much later. We would fly to Warsaw first. There I would have to wait four hours for the connection flight to Lisbon. The airport in Warsaw was quite big, with many shops and Restaurants. I had some breakfast and was strolling around for a while.

The last flight on this odyssey it would take four hours again. There was a Portuguese family with three children next to me. The guy had a nervous energy and smelled bad. I didn’t feel comfortable sitting next to him. I was sitting in the middle of a row with three people. The woman to the left was nice, a Polish woman who spoke perfect German. We had a nice and long talk, so time was flying.

I could see the Alps

We reached Lisbon! My passport was scanned upon arrival. They have boxes where you put the passport on a scanner, there will be a photo of your face and a fingerprint on the scanner. All good, I could claim my baggage and leave the airport. I went towards the Metro and bought a ticket. Only three stations to Lisbon Oriente. I left the Metro and walked straight to the bus terminal.

It is now upon the surface and not more underground than before. On a monitor, I could see when my bus would depart, at 17:00, to PortimΓ£o. Three more hours to drive. The highway was quite empty, as usual in Portugal. In the meantime, there was no more toll to pay. Good news, the highways are free now.

I reached PortimΓ£o and it felt like coming home. Marc and Carol, my Brazilian friends, picked me up at the bus terminal. 30 minutes to drive to Monchique. It was lovely to be with my friends again. We reached Quinta Alta Vista, where Davina and Simon are living, up in the mountains of Monchique. It was a warm welcome, I will be here for two weeks now.
