Road trip – 257 km – Busselton

I will be back on the road today. I had a shower, some breakfast, and then started to bring everything back into the car. We said goodbye to Steven and Pauline and headed towards Busselton. Busselton is a town 223 km south of Perth on the coast. We had a stop in Rockingham for a coffee and some fried eggs on toast. A small, busy town on the coast. The school holidays ended yesterday, so there were fewer people already.

We wouldn’t drive long today, so there was plenty of time. Suddenly, we saw a place which Pauline was recommending, The Crooked Carrot Cafe in Myalup.

We stopped there to look around. A busy place with a big Cafe and playground for children. We got slowly hungry, so we stopped in Capel, found an IGA, and bought some bread, fruits, and yoghurt. Nearby was a table with benches, good for having our lunch. Busselton was just 30 minutes from here. On WikiCamps, we could see two locations. Busselton Holiday Village and Busselton Jetty Tourist Park. We stopped first at the Holiday Village. Camping would be possible here for AU$40. But the place was a bit further away from the beach and was not very inviting. We drove to the Jetty Tourist Park, where we booked in for AU$53 a night. After setting up our tent, we walked to the Information Center. We got a lot of information about what we could do in the next days, whale watching or walking along the Jetty, and at the end would be a glass aquarium to watch the ocean. We decided to book in for one more night.
