Road trip – 80 km – Busselton

It’s a nice camping place here in Busselton. It has fresh wind but gets pretty chilly after sunset. In daytime it has 22 degrees,11 at night. I was at 19:30 in the tent with my laptop. When there is no WiFi, I am using my phone as a Hotspot. I have 65 GB of data for 28 days, which is more than enough. The provider Telstra covers most of Australia.

After breakfast, we walked down to the ocean. We would have a walk on the 1840-meter-long Jetty. At 09:00, the gate would be open for the Underground Observatory and Marine Sanctuary. We saw a cruise ship near the end of the jetty.

We had to walk three levels down under water. There would be windows to observe life in the ocean.

We were lucky to see a big swarm of fish, always swimming in the same direction. It’s called swarm intelligence. We could only be down there for 15 minutes before the next people would arrive, but it was enough time to observe.

Walking back on the jetty, enjoying the warm morning sun. We had a coffee, then walked back to the camping place. Today we will try to watch some whales. So we drove towards Eagle Bay. It is a beautiful spot on the rocks.

We sat or stood on the rocks for 30 minutes, but no whales appeared. So we headed on to another place called Cape Naturaliste. It’s just at the end of Eagle Bay. There is a beautiful trail to hike and maybe see some whales.

We walked for a while, sat down, had some sandwiches, and a Coke. And suddenly we saw whales here and there, but unfortunately, too far away for a photo. You would need to have a good zoom to see them clearly.

Anyway, we had a good day, enjoying nature and walking a lot. On the way home, we stopped in Dunsborough to buy some food for dinner at IGA. Back at the camping place, it was time for a shower and to rest
