Bus from Wagga Wagga to Canberra – 250 km

Bus terminal in Wagga Wagga

The alarm was set for 05:30 this morning. Andrew would drive us to the bus terminal. We had a coffee and a short breakfast and packed our suitcases. The car would stay here in Andrew’s place. After a 15-minute drive, we arrived at the bus terminal. We still had 30 minutes before 07:00. An elderly lady came and talked to us. She did not stop talking. She said that she was walking for three hours because she doesn’t trust taxi drivers. On the other hand, she told us about hitchhiking in Adelaide. After a while, other people arrived, and we changed the bench to wait.

The bus arrived 15 minutes late. We started towards Canberra. Canberra is located in the Australian Capital Territory and is the capital of Australia. The drive should be 3 hours and 40 minutes, but somehow it was one hour less. We left the bus, crossed the street and walked into a cafe. Then I ordered an Uber, which would bring us to our hotel. We checked in. The clerk just had a phone call with his internet provider; the internet was not working.

We rested for a while, then left the hotel. There was a bus stop on the other side of the road. The bus would bring us back into the city. There is a National Library and a National Gallery, a Questacon Science Garden and the High Court of Australia. We visited all of this, the Questacon just shortly, we will go there tomorrow.

The National Library

In the High Court, our luggage and we were checked before we could enter. It’s possible to visit the building and take photos. A young lady showed us the main room where a well-known case will be heard tomorrow. Seven judges will be there to make a final decision.

The High Court

We will go there tomorrow as spectators for a while; it is a public case.

We strolled around for a while and got a bus back to the hotel. Before we checked the location of Kingston Station, where we would depart on Saturday for Sydney. In the hotel, we had a drink and pizza for dinner. Time to rest now…
