I had a long sleep, more than 8 hours, which is more than I usually sleep. We had a coffee and some muesli for breakfast. My first shower since I left Portugal was really refreshing.

We started packing up the car. Andrew is really super organised. We got a big tent, sleeping bags, cushions, deckchairs, small camping chairs, dishes, cutlery, and many other useful things besides a handsaw, an axe, a shovel and Crocodile Dundee knives. We also have some solar panels.

I have a good feeling here in Australia, people are friendly, relaxed. I had a relaxed day, don’t feel much of a jet lag. Still, my body and mind are adjusting to another life here. It‘s so interesting how the different vibes feel, whether you are around Germans, Portuguese, Indians, Chinese, or Australians.

I bought health insurance for 3 months being in Australia. It‘s from DR-Walter Protrip World, €204 per month. Medical care in Australia is pretty expensive if you need it. I hope I will not need it, but who will know it?

Andrew was selling his house in Willunga and bought a piece of land with a big shed and a big campervan in it. It’s a small town here called Clayton Bay. He will later look for another house when it’s time.

Andrew’s home for now

In the afternoon, a friend of Andrew’s, who is an electrician, arrived to talk about some electrical installations in the house. Otherwise, we had a relaxed day, not going out. We had some lunch and dinner, talked about our trip, and went to bed early. Around 21:00, I got pretty tired and still needed some more sleep after my long journey.
