Roadtrip – 252 km – Kingston S.E.

The road trip starts again. There was not much more to pack this morning. We cleared it all up before we left. Just driving around the corner, Andrew saw that Barb’s car was parked at her house. We had a short visit there before we continued driving.

Our destination would be around Kingston, S.E., or Robe. It got quite dark outside, and soon after, it started to rain. In Wellington, we had to take a ferry to cross the Murray River. Just around 10 cars would fit on the ferry, and there is only one. But we didn’t have to wait long; the ferry would only need 7 minutes to cross the river.

We wouldn’t have a long drive today, but for camping, it was way too wet. We stopped at Meningie to eat our sandwiches. The town was quite busy. Other people were travelling, who just stopped for a break. Meningie must be the hub for the towns around, with many shops settled here. Sitting in the car, I looked for accommodations in Kingston, S.E., and Robe. I found a motel for a reasonable price and booked it online.

We reached there at 14:00, happy not to be in the rain. So we just stayed in our motel room. I had a good nap for two hours. A noodle soup and some toast in the room would be enough for today.
