Buen Camino – 21 km – Caldas de Reis

I left the Albergue in Pontevedra at 07:30. The town looked a bit messy this morning, there were still drunk people on the road, Saturday night, alcohol night. I met Martina, the Czech woman I walked with before, in one corner. We walked a moment, then stopped for a coffee, the café was just opening.

21 km to walk today, that’s just perfect. I still have a blister under each pad of my feet, it’s getting better, still I feel the pressure. I was thinking that I might need new shoes. The Skechers I am wearing are from last year Camino Francés. From Burgos to Finisterre, 600 km. They are getting old, I will get some new ones for the next Camino.

Death was quite present this year for me, an English friend in Portugal left her body as well as two German women in Germany, I knew them since long time. One was my son’s mother.

I was walking and talking with Natalia for a while, she is from Poland. With Martina and Lucie from Czech Republic I walked the rest of the day, I met them several times before already. It’s another Martina, both are Czech.

Really the first café in a small village. Suddenly it was full house here. Every pilgrim on this route seemed to be here.

The boy on the photo is 5 years old and walks 20 km every day with his Czech mother. Today is my Czech day 😃

Martina, Martina and Lucie. Everybody is looking where to stay tonight. I booked a bed already this morning, although it’s not necessary, enough Albergues and beds are available.

I made a good choice. The Albergue inside must be quite new renovated. The bed is comfortable and has a curtain, it gives the feeling of a bit privacy. And they have good WiFi everywhere in the house. So I am laying in my bed, writing this blog and listening to Radio Paradise, Global Mix, my favourite Internet Radio.
Later I meet Lucie and Martina for dinner.
Life is good 🌍

Hi Julian, nice to here from you. Yes I have a good time on the Camino now, it’s just quite short, two more days. Every day feels different. Stay well, big hug, Chandresh
Good you’re having a nice time – sounds quite a-lot more people walking this time ! Happy you’re having fun meeting all the pilgrims 🙂🙏🏽
The last days are quite busy here, lots of biker groups as well. In the end I met quite some people from the first days 😃
