Compassion
Compassion is an act of giving without a giver.
I fell asleep last night before 23:00, with light and laptop still on. I had a good sleep. The ceiling lamp in my room was so strong that I used my headlight, placing it on a chair. That is much more convenient for me.
I asked for my breakfast at 09:00, so I had much time to sort out some things. I found a nice accommodation in Negombo for the last two nights in Sri Lanka. At least I can enjoy the beach life here, there is nothing else to do. I just had six weeks of beaches in Goa, in Portugal I have beaches anyway.
At 09:00 I left my room, and breakfast was ready. It’s a private place with two or three rooms to rent. The name of the elderly lady is Mary, she is catholic. I was wondering why in the booking message the name Robert Johnson showed up, it is one of her sons. I spent some more time in my room before I left for town. I am wearing my hoodie today, it is 21 degrees and it’s cloudy. The bus came after five minutes. The ticket price changes every time, first 50, then 70 and today 50 rupees. I am talking about cents here.
In Nuwara Elya, I left the bus at the terminal and went straight into Viktoria Park. Here I am sitting under a tree and writing this blog.

This park looks very beautiful and well cared for. I spent maybe two hours here just sitting and walking. Back in town, I was looking for ice cream, but then walked into a bakery and had a peace of nutcake and coffee. Strolling around in town for a while I felt to drive back. I went to the bus terminal, found my bus, and sat down.

When I was back I checked my bookings for Negombo and found a nice accommodation for two nights with good reviews. I also checked my booking for Tiruvannamalai again. I changed it to one week instead of two. I will leave it open how long I will stay in this place, maybe I find a better one if it is not suitable. Then I was writing Sampath, the guy in Tiruvannamalai from whom I rent the scooter. I remember he is from Sri Lanka, anyway, I asked him to pick me up at the Chennai airport on Friday. After some misunderstanding, not driving me to Chennai but to Tiruvannamalai, I guess it is because of the English, he was happy to pick me up. My host in Tiruvannamalai has been informed that I will reach around 23:00. I spent some time reading, and then I took another bus to town for dinner. I found a suitable Restaurant and had some “Butter Masala Paneer” and a Ginger drink. It was dark and around 19:30. I walked to the bus station, there were not so many as in daytime. I had to ask for the bus to Nanu Oya, it was waiting already there. After 10 minutes we would start.
Back in my room I just rested, had a Zoom meeting with friends in Portugal, and watched a movie.
Boa Noite!
