Compassion
God cannot show you compassion out of sympathy. He can show it only by looking at your forbearance (titiksha).
The last morning in Sri Lanka arises. I spent some time in my room reading and writing. I better leave the curtains closed, the view outside the window is not worth opening. At 09:00 I had my breakfast at the veranda. After breakfast, I paid my bill and left “The Alexis’s Guest House”. On the road, I tried to book a Tuk Tuk with the PickMe app. One driver confirmed but called me and said he was too far away. A driver came from the other side of the road and offered me to drive. It’s not the first time a driver has asked me to cancel my PickMe tour and drive with him. I don’t like the style of these people. Anyway, my tour was canceled by the driver, so I went with him to Rajapaksha Park. I just wanted to sit down and relax before leaving for the airport.

I was sitting here for a while on a bench, I even fell asleep a little. In these parks are mainly young couples, and teenagers, to have some intimacy. When I felt it was enough I walked back to the road, my backpack on my back, the small one in my hand. In front of the garden, I tried the first time the Uber app. It took only 5 minutes before a car arrived at my place. It is much more convenient than driving with a Tuk Tuk. For 11 km I just paid 954 rupees (€3), nearly the same as I would have paid with a Tuk Tuk.
We reached the airport and the bill was automatically paid with PayPal. I entered the airport and passed the first security check. Now I was in the hall for the Check-In.

Check-In at Colombo airport
I had to wait a while until the counter opened, I was quite early. After my luggage was checked in I proceeded to the gates. A lot of shops around like at every airport.

The prices are high here, 4$ for a coffee, 10$ for a junk food sandwich.

My flight started on time. When I entered the airplane from Air India I felt immediately like in India. This plane must be older than me 😂 Just a little more than one hour and we landed, without any delay. I had to pass the immigration, and the lady asked some questions, about where I wanted to go and if I still work, and she realized that I just had been to India in the last months. Everything OK. I proceeded to the baggage claim, got my backpack, and left. On the plane I changed the SIM card in my phone, I removed the one from Sri Lanka and added my Portuguese card. So Portugal and India should be active now. But the mobile date didn’t work for any reason. When I just was outside Sampath, my driver, showed up. It was a warm welcome, we had a good relationship the time before in Tiruvannamalai. His car was in the parkhouse, we started the four-hour drive to Tiruvanamalai. Sampath offered me his Hotspot on his phone, so I was online. After a while I found the reason, mobile data was on my Portuguese card and not on my Indian card. So I changed that and I was online again.
First, we were on the wrong road, Sampath called the caretaker of my residency and he found then the right place. It is just close to Perupakkam Road, maybe two km more outside than the place where I have been before at Sathya’s Cafe. We reached my accommodation, “Gulan ILLam”. a nice newly built house, I was on the second floor. I am the first guest in this room, on Monday they will finish some small work for three hours, Kumar informed me. Sampath left to come back with my bike, and then we both went back to his place. I was driving back then to my accommodation. The bike is pretty old, with a kickstart, not a scooter, but it drives. I unpacked a few things and then went to sleep.
