Only when the total inability of the ego to do anything is realized, does it (the ego) submit to the power of Grace. Grace also gives the experimental knowledge of the powerlessness of the ego because the ego can never accept its defeat.

Another beautiful morning in Tiruvannamalai. My nose and my head are still busy with the cold. It takes some days this time. Sampath, my driver, got also sick after picking me up in Chennai. At Satsang, there are quite many people coughing. Something in the air, or it is just from bike driving and ventilation.

I went to Satsang this morning again. I tried to be on time, the Ashram will open at 08:45. I was there just before, went through the gate, and wanted to drop my Flip Flops on the right side, when somebody mentioned that the queue was on the other side. So I went to the left and queued up. This time I found an empty chair. It seems many people are leaving these days, the peak season in Tiruvannamalai was when I was in Goa and Sri Lanka.

I enjoyed the Satsang this morning, although my nose bothered me a bit. After Satsang, I drove to “The Inner Child Restaurant” to have some breakfast. I had a homemade Granola with curd and fruits and a coffee. On the way back I stopped at the Sri Ramana Supermarket to buy some water and nuts. Back in my room, I fell asleep.

Later in the afternoon, I was in the Ashram for some Meditation, I was sitting in Samadhi Hall. There are fewer people now in the Ashram, like all over the town. Leaving Samadhi Hall, I saw Ganesh sitting outside and I greeted him. He is not asking me anymore to show me around somewhere. For a change, I drove to “German Bakery” to have some late lunch or early dinner. There were a few people when I arrived.

I ordered a Tofu vegetable soup. Alex was writing me about Kirtan tomorrow at Sunshine Guesthouse. I liked this idea. There would be different musicians than on Sunday with Upaha. Somehow my taste buds were not working well, I didn’t feel much taste. I was driving back then, and didn’t have much energy. On the way back I met Jonatan, he also caught a cold and didn’t feel well. He wanted to go for dinner but was not sure yet. He told me that he would leave for the North, Varanasi, Rishikesh, on the 28th. So we might meet in Rishikesh.

When I came home Krishna Kumar was there. He is the owner of the house where I rent a room. We talked in my room. He knew I wanted to stay for one month. He just had to talk with his wife about the conditions and would call me the next morning. So far so good!

A peaceful place, on the way near my apartment
