Patterns of Mind
Apparent action of the body (movement of the limbs) is not real action. The thought ‘I am the doer’ makes it an action.
I woke up very early around 05:00. There was a mosquito somewhere and it felt quite warm. At one point in the night I switched the fan off. As a blanket, I am just using my white Sarong, not really necessarily. So I had plenty of time before Satsang. I finished watching a documentary on Arte TV about highly processed food. It is quite spooky how the food industry is manipulating people and gaining money by people’s addiction. Have you ever heard about “vanishing caloric density”? This is when they create fluffy food with many calories, suggesting to your brain that you haven’t eaten much, so you can eat more.
I skipped breakfast this morning(not because of the movie). At Satsang I met Dani and Alex. Dani had finished her 10-day Vipassana Retreat. She has only eaten rice in these 10 days, meditating for 10 hours a day. Satsang was relaxing as usual. One gentleman was playing a song with his flute at one point.
I sent Holger a message, asking him if he got a SIM card already. He said he will go later with his cousin. Driving back to my apartment, I stopped at Sathya’s because I saw Holger there outside smoking a cigarette. We were talking for a while.
We decided to have lunch later at the German Cafe. Alex and I had some Indian food, while Dani was eating some boiled veggies with Tahini. She has to start slowly. They are leaving tomorrow afternoon to Bangalore by bus. Then they take a train to Humpi and stay some days there.
I drove back home, watching a movie for a while, then I had a nap for the next two hours.
Time to drive towards the Ashram. I was just in time for the Tamil Parayana. After that, I walked 9 times around the shrine and sat for a while outside the Samadhi Hall.
At Lassi House they are advertising with fancy ice creams like “Death of Chocolate” or “Sin with Brownies”. But in reality you just get simple ice cream. “What you see is what you get” is not always the case in India.
