Wisdom

We always smile during the good times, but if we smile during the times of adversity, that is knowledge.

I stopped at Sarala’s Cafe, they also have a laundry service. The lady said I can pick it up this evening. This morning, I decided to have breakfast at Sathya’s. Their children and grandchildren were here again. The little one is so cute. She just learned to walk and speak a little. Although baby language or Tamil somehow sounds the same to me, Dakshnamurti said she talks a little now. I had my breakfast and ordered a black coffee. The coffee came late, although I was the only guest. Max, the Australian guy, came in. I finished my coffee, it was time for Satsang. Holger arrived when I just paid my bill. We had a short talk, then I left.

Satsang was relaxing and interesting as usual. All the different questions people have. Some people cling to the scripts or what other teachers have said. Amma said yesterday, “Why do you read so much? The guru principle is naturally working within you. You will not see it by reading. For the one who knows, everything written here is true. But for the one who doesn’t know, all this will seem contradictory and confusing. If you know the guru is within you, that is enough. It will provide all the guidance you need.”

I drove straight home after Satsang, watched a movie for a while and fell asleep, for an hour more or less. Some Indian people were arriving in the next room to mine. It’s always getting noisy when Indians are chatting, but probably it’s the same with all kinds of people. When I left for the Ashram in the afternoon, there were some bikes and a car parked in front of the house. I stopped before the Ashram and bought three of these fried balls, I will ask next time for their name. It is not Samosa or Pakora. In the Ashram, I was sitting in the Hall for a while, then I went outside in front of Samadhi Hall. I was standing, leaning against a wall, when a group of young Indian women came close. One was asking me if she could talk for a moment with me. I said “No, here is silence”. There are signs for silence all over the Ashram, and guards sitting or standing with signs saying “Silence” on one side, and on the other “No mobiles”. Anyway, many Indians don’t care. For a moment I thought I was a bit rude, on the other hand I just respected the silence for other people around.

I left the Ashram, had a chai on the other side of the road, then went down the road for an ice cream. Somehow I have no idea what to do today. I am just taking actions without expecting any result. I bought some nuts and water in the supermarket before I drove back to my apartment. I was reading for a while.

Time to pick up my laundry. Sarala’s is just before Sathya’s. But Sarala’s doors were closed. I will catch up on my laundry tomorrow. So I was driving back, I wasn’t hungry, could have stopped at Sathya’s, but no. The ladies from the house cleaning were supposed to come this evening. They also didn’t show up. India or Portugal, the reliability is close to zero.
