True learning starts when the teaching stops.
No Satsang and no Kirtan today. There is another event today at 17:00 on the rooftop of Wild Child. Some Sufi music with simple dance or step moves, but my feet will not do it, I still have these blisters. Although it is already much better, I can put my feet fully on the ground again, the coconut oil helps. When I came down to my scooter Pasupathi, the caretaker here, was asking me for money. The same happened a few days ago with the guy in the chai shop opposite the Ashram. I didn’t give them money yet, somehow it leaves me in a situation where I have to deal with my conscience. I like to help, but here are so many people in need of money. I left for German Cafe this morning, having some breakfast, just an omelet with toast, tomatoes, and onions.
There was nothing to do this morning, so I drove back to my apartment until Sarah was messaging me, having some lunch at Edwin’s. I was there at 12:30, but it was a bit too late, there were quite a lot of people this Sunday and there was no food left. Even Sarah, who was there before me, didn’t get food anymore. Edwin offered us to make some cashew, rice, and paneer stuff, but we decided to go to another Restaurant. There are many options. We passed Ramana’s, but Kavitha was closed on Sundays. We tried Shanti Cafe, behind the German Bakery, where also Shanti Travels has its office. It was closed as well. Then we drove to the ‘The Dreaming Tree Restaurant’. I left my glasses in the scooter, so Sarah ordered some food for us. It is a nice place to sit, different than other Restaurants, many art on the walls, and the prices are high but the food has excellent quality.
We spent quite some time there before heading home, I dropped Sarah at her guesthouse. Just around the cow corner, an old woman tried to stop me. I didn’t stop but did 50 meters later to buy some water. When I came back to my scooter the old woman was there, gave me some Jasmin flowers, and pulled me to a shop nearby. She was asking me to buy her some rice. The selling girl was translating it. So I paid her a kilo of rice. So many people in India need food with so little or no money.
Then I slept for a while. Later I was just prepared to go out, to the Ashram or have a chai, when Sarah messaged me again, saying she was going to Sathya’s. So we met there. I wasn’t even hungry today, just had a chai. We spent some time there, talked to other people, and left past 21:00.
