Another day in Tiruvannamalai. I don’t have any plan for today, so I started slowly, reading some news, practicing Portuguese with Duolingo. I am still struggling with the Portuguese language. I walked down to have a breakfast at Sathya’s.

It’s usually Idli what I have for breakfast there.

Idli is a classic dish of South Indian and Tamil cuisine. Idli are white, steamed, flat-round cakes made from a fermented dough based on urd beans and rice. They have a soft, spongy consistency and a sour taste.

I met two guys from California this morning, they just arrived from Dharamsala in the Himalayas. We had a chat about accomodations and a few other things about our lives. Then I was driving to the Ashram, walking 9 times around the shrine and sitting silently for a while in Samadhi Hall. Do you know this feeling when looking into somebodies eyes and there is a momentary contact, a sparkling gleam in the others eye, and you know it is not from the person, but from the inner self? It is like looking at yourself this moment.

On the road I had a coconut to drink and was buying some bananas. I am back in my room, writing and the fan just starts working, there was a power outage for a while.

I was thinking about buying a broom to clean my room, but couldn’t find the right one. When I had my nap I heard suddenly somebody trying to open my door. My key was still outside on the door but it was locked by a locker from inside. There was a young Indian girl and told me that she is cleaning here. Great, so the broom story is solved. She was cleaning and then I saw a guy with an accesspoint in his hands. He installed the device just outside of my window, so I have good internet now. There was some struggle in the beginning due to a damaged port on the accesspoint, anyway it works now.

I was reading for a while then driving to the Ashram for dinner. They are cooking always something different, there is a lot of variety in the meals. Whenever I meet Indians they are telling me something about temples, I hardly can remember all the names. I think I will visit some the next days.
