Buen Camino – 26 km – Burgos
Leaving San Juan de Ortega after preparing my feet with plaster and bandages. Is a chilly morning, got my red rain jacket out. The café didn’t open yet, so have to walk 4 km to Ages to get the first coffee. Jan is already gone ahead as usual. Walking the last day with Rozenne. The journey ends in Burgos for Rozenne this time, same for Jan.
Again a rocky path and up, up, up. It’s getting warmer, no more need for my rain jacket.
On the top, now it is getting down until Burgos. It should be more levelled after Burgos at all. It’s a long way today to Burgos today. Walking a while on the road. I left La Rioja already a day or two before, now in region Castile and León.
At one point the Camino split, one direction reaches Burgos from the north, more industrial area to pass. We walked the other option along the runway long time. Some people are even flying from Burgos to Santiago. Passing some industry then walking along the Rio Pico until Burgos.
16 beds but just Jan, Rozenne and I are here the night. Very nice here, clean, quiet, comfortable.
I just bought these shoes one week before I left for the Camino. I ordered them online at WMshoes in Germany. But they were delivered from China. What to say, Chinese crap! Just looking at Trustpilot, the platform for reviews. WMshoe index is just 1.3, insufficient! I should have looked there before.
Will stay an extra night in Burgos, resting and healing my feet and buy really good shoes tomorrow morning. I can check in the Albergue again after 12:00. Everything will be fine.
Just visited a shoe shop close here. They have really good shoes for €159. Good investment for my feet.
I will write a Review about my shoes on Trustpilot now. At least this I can do.
