IN THE PRESENT, HERENOW
A man who is aware cannot move in the past, because it is no more. A man who is aware cannot move in the future, because it is not yet. A man who is aware lives in the present, herenow. Here is his only space, and now is his only time. And because he is only herenow, time as such disappears. Eternity is born, timelessness is born.
In the night, I felt quite sick and hot. I must have had some fever. Waking up, I had to arrange my system emotionally and physically. Despite all that, I could at least eat and left my hotel for breakfast at Bodhi Cafe. I was in contact with Ambara and we decided to have some lunch together.
There is a nice garden Restaurant close by, ‘Ira’s Kitchen and Tearoom’. We met there around 13:00 and had lunch. After lunch, we were walking down to the Ganga. I felt better in the meantime, I think the climax of my cold was in the night. We thought about taking a ferry to the other side and walking along the Ganga to Ram Jhula. In Ram Jhula is another bridge. It’s about two kilometers to walk. But today is Sunday and there were many Indian tourists. So we would have to wait to get a ferry. We just sat down at the river then.
Later we went to Ambara’s hotel, ‘Terrakotta Hotel’, a quite modern and good Western-style hotel. Ambara was still hungry, she just had a pancake before. So she ordered a pizza, and I just had a coffee.
At the end of the day, we were walking along the road up to the main road. Still lots of traffic. Ambara tried to pick up her laundry, but it would be finished at 21:00 only. Anyway I got exhausted and decided to go to my hotel and rest. Ambara wanted to stroll around a bit in the shops. It was good that I had some action today. One day in bed was enough.
