Gopika would leave for Gokarna this morning. I was packing and emptying my room on the rooftop. I removed the beddings and brought them down; it’s all from Gopika. At 10:00, I had an appointment with Saryana. Saryana rented me the scooter, and we would meet at Satya’s Cafe. Gopika also went there to have breakfast. I paid Saryana for the scooter and walked back. The first time I was walking here for a bit. It only takes 10-15 minutes. I got my suitcase and backpack down into the apartment. In the meantime, Gopika was at Ramana supermarket and organized a Rickshaw driver. He waited in the room until Gopika was ready, then left. I had another apartment now until Gopika would be back.

It was a new feeling being in a spacious apartment now. As I needed new flip-flops, I was driving into town. I followed Matt’s recommendation about the underwear shops. First, I parked the scooter I was driving, Gopika’s, and walked a few meters to a shop selling slippers and shoes. I purchased some soft flip-flops for 180 Rupees. Looking at Google Maps, I found some shops with clothes nearby. When I reached there, I entered the shop and found precisely the ones Matt was talking about. Underwear with pockets. Why do they have pockets? When you wear a Lungi, it’s helpful to have a pocket in the underwear. I didn’t know my size, 80, 90, 100, or more. So I chose 90. I think it’s the length in centimeters around the hips. Later, when I tried them, they fit, but the next one I would buy 95 centimeters.

I considered having lunch at Saatvik Restaurant, where I had been several times on my last journey. I had a special Thali after a photo session with an Indian couple. The rest of the day I spent at home, and I haven’t recovered from my cough yet. It has already lasted for a week.
