LIVE LIFE MOMENT TO MOMENT
A sannyasin has to learn to live life moment to moment, with total intensity, as if there is going to be no other moment. And because there is only this moment to live, all his energy is poured into this moment. His life starts having the flavour of totality. And that flavour is religion, that flavour is prayer.
It was my last day in Lucknow, at least I thought so. I hadn’t planned anything for this day. I spent the morning in Papaji Satsang Bhavan meditating, reading, writing, and coding. Anjum, who is the manager and the owner was visiting today. There was an incident with Papaji’s grandson, the son of Usha (Papaji’s daughter-in-law). He had a heart attack and left his body. So other friends were coming to visit Usha and here.
I had my last lunch here. Deepak, Narendra, and Amar were always so caring and comforting, I will miss them. Then I had my usual nap in the afternoon. I was walking outside for a while, maybe I would see somebody selling ice cream, but they must have been somewhere with their bicycles. I walked back and had a shower, packed the last stuff in my backpacks, and said goodbye to everyone. I ordered an Uber, and after 20 minutes, more or less, we reached the Awahd Bus Station. Amar told me before that the bus would stop not in the bus station but outside on the road.

First, I walked into the station and asked the guy behind the counter, the point of enquiry. He also said, gesturing with his arm, to wait outside. Later, I understood his arm movement. To make the story short, the bus didn’t arrive at 18:30. I called the bus operator 15 minutes later, and he said the bus would come one hour later. OK, at least I knew now that it would come. But it didn’t. I called the operator again, he gave me the number of the driver. I called the driver, he said I have to wait 40 more minutes. Time passed, and no bus was in view. In the end I asked a young Indian man to call the operator and/or driver and check the situation. The result was that the bus was gone. I got an Uber back to Papaji Satsang Bhavan. Narendra and Amar were sitting outside, surprised that I was back. I showed Amar the bus station on Google Maps, and then I understood that I should have been on the other side of the big road.

I could stay one more night here, and I was thinking about what to do now. Getting another bus for the next day? Or going by plane. I decided on an airplane. I booked a flight for the next morning, 09:55 from Lucknow to Delhi and then Delhi to Kathmandu. Amar gave me a lift to the ATM, I needed some money for the next day driving to the airport. I got some ice cream for us three and we watched a cricket match. Indians are crazy for cricket as Germans are crazy for football.
