The only way to make change happen
Q. A gentleman then asked – I have been here for two beautiful weeks. Now I must get back to my two teenage boys. Things are very different now in the world. They are constantly distracted by screens and digital media. Do you have any words of reassurance for me in how to best deal with this?
Amma said compassionately – the only way to affect change in others is to transform ourselves. When we transform, others around us also change. They notice our transformation and begin to change themselves. This is the only way to make change happen.
One more day in Kathmandu-Thamel. After three days, it is really enough. I am happy when I am out in nature for a while. I haven’t been to Durbar Square yet. Durbar Square, or royal Squares in English, is the generic name that refers to the plazas and areas opposite the old royal palaces in Nepal. The name comes from Persian دربار (Darbar). The durbar squares are full of temples, idols, open courts, water fountains, and much more.

I continued walking to a nearby park, Ratna Park. I needed to sit for a while out of traffic and people.

They had benches here to sit. I checked booking.com for an accommodation in Pokhara. It’s a 6-hour drive, 200 km north-west of Kathmandu. The Annapurna will be in view from there. I found a nice hotel for seven nights. But before I will be for three nights east from here, in Lotus Guest House near the Buddha Stupa.
On the way back to my hotel I had some lunch on the way, pizza time. In my hotel I was sleeping for a while, somehow it feels like just to get out of Kathmandu center. Waking up, I was craving a coffee. I have been yesterday in this nice cafe, Himalayan Arabica Beans Coffee. I went there again, had a coffee and an energy bar. I wasn’t hungry, so I felt like skipping dinner. Looking for an organic spice shop, I found some spices for Gopika and me. Gopika gave me an order to get her pepper, cumin, cardamom, and turmeric. I got it all in two different shops, all organic. For myself, I also bought some Chai-Masala.
I got some snacks in a mini market and went back to my hotel.
Enough for today!
