My brain is only a receiver
My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists. ~Nikola Tesla~
This is my first morning in Kathmandu-Boudhanath. I slept early last night, so I woke up early. After my morning procedures, I went straight to the bus ticket center to buy a ticket for Pokhara on Friday. It was easy; I got a ticket for 1200 rupees (€8). I needed a coffee and some breakfast, so I walked over to the big Buddha stupa. I found a small Cafe and had a cheese-veggie sandwich. Everything around the stupa is more expensive than in other places, a phenomenon all around the world, and its so-called attractions.

Back in my guesthouse, I was reading and watching a movie. I didn’t feel like doing much, here is not much to do. Somehow, I am happy to go to Pokhara, where there will be more nature and mountains, the real Nepal. I fell asleep.
Waking up, it started raining a bit, not much, but refreshing. Outside in the inner garden, there is a hot water tank. I still have some teabags. I was sitting outside when I got a call on WhatsApp. It was Andre, the Swiss guy I met in Sri Lanka-Negombo on the last day. He is planning to drive down to Portugal later in April. So probably we will meet there end of April when I am back. We had a longer chat, it was nice to hear from him.
Later, I left to get some food. Somewhere between lunch and dinner. I found a very nice place near my guesthouse. The best and cleanest place I’ve found yet in Kathmandu. I had a soup and a coffee after it. I will go here for breakfast tomorrow. I was sitting there for quite a while. Then I walked again to the Buddha stupa, just walking around it to exercise a bit.
Tomorrow I will visit the Pashupatinath temple near the river. It’s 30 minutes to walk. I am happy when I can walk a little. Andre told me about this area, he said it is a bit like Varanasi in India. Andre has been there 40 years ago.
