Max will leave this morning. He has a flight to Kathmandu and will stay in the Green Mandala Inn for a while. We went out for breakfast at 07:30, he knows a unique Restaurant, about a 30-minute walk from the Hotel Mountain View where we stay. It was a good breakfast, I had some pancakes with fruit and honey. After breakfast, we walked back to our hotel. Max finished packing and mentioned again how nice the Green Mandala Inn is, and I should think about it to come there. My Visa is still valid until 03.05.2025. We said goodbye when his taxi for the airport arrived.
Back in my room I was looking for flights to Portugal. I feel my journey is coming to an end. I checked flights from Pokhara to Faro, Pokhara to Lisbon, Kathmandu to Faro, Kathmandu to Lisbon, Delhi to Faro and Delhi to Lisbon. From Pokhara to Faro it is at least €1000. The cheapest of course from Delhi to Lisbon, I could get a ticket for €460. From Pokara to Kathmandu I could take a bus for €8 or a flight for €90. Nepalese people pay only €30 for the flight. But a bus from Kathmandu to Delhi takes 25 hours. That’s a long stretch, I don’t feel like doing it.
I went out for lunch at one point around 13:00. There is still the New Year Celebration with very loud music on the stage at the main road. First, I walked into Marvadi Restaurant, which is an Indian Vegetarian restaurant, but the music from outside was too loud. So I left and continued walking further down the road. There was another Indian Restaurant where I sat down and had a Masala Dosa. I walked back to my hotel.
I was thinking about booking a room in the Green Mandala Inn. When I looked at it last week, all the rooms were booked. This time, there was one room available on booking.com. I booked it for seven nights from 18.04.2025 to 25.04.2025. Now I just have to think whether I take a bus or a flight to Kathmandu on Friday. The bus needed more than 10 hours, the flight takes 25 minutes. Of course, you need some time checking in and out. As I think the bus from Kathmandu to Delhi takes too long, I will probably book a flight from Kathmandu to Lisbon. From Lisbon, I can easily take a bus to Portimão.
I was not in the mood today to take any further action about exploring the area or something. I will see what I can do tomorrow. I just went out for dinner again, same Indian Restaurant, I had a paneer butter masala. Then I was back in my room reading and writing, watching a movie. There was still music on the stage outside, I am happy when it stops tomorrow.
