Work as Meditation
Not burden and fulfilment of duty should be the basis of our work, but joy and creativity. It is not important what we do, but much more how we do it. The amount of love we put into our work determines not only the external, material results, but also what comes out of it – our self-awareness, satisfaction, fulfilment and joy. Creativity is not a privilege of artists and inventors. Creativity has the quality of love and mindfulness that can flow into any of our simplest activities at any moment.
It is getting a bit warmer here, the rain has gone, and there is a blue sky now. Max and I always have the same timings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We meet at 07:30 for breakfast, 13:00 for lunch, and 18:30 for dinner. It is quite a regular and restful life.
Today was the plan to visit a shopping center with Johnny. It’s called Bbudhanikantha. Johnny came to the Restaurant at 10:00. Max decided not to join as he didn’t need anything. Johnny ordered a taxi. The drivers used to call the client first by phone before they came, same was in Sri Lanka. With the second attempt, a driver showed up and we started. It was just a few kilometers, a short drive.
The shopping center is quite big with 4 floors, I didn’t expect that. There were big shops for clothes, electronics, household goods, and other things. Johnny got a USB cable, then we went into the food store. I could buy some little gifts for friends in Portugal and some obligatory snacks like biscuits. After shopping, I ordered another taxi, which drove us back. I was just back at the right time for lunch.
It is really peaceful here and I am just enjoying my time with our meals, reading, working, and writing a bit using my laptop, sometimes I am watching a movie or documentary. A nap in the afternoon and after Lunch and dinner, Max and I sit together, having conversations about our lives and the world.
