Road trip – 0 km – Perth

Another day in Perth. City life feels somehow different. Andrew and I are not used to it. Perth is a nice city, everything is clean and organized, and people are friendly. Still, something is missing. We had a walk with Steven again this morning. Another route, another park. This park is called Hyde Park.

There are beautiful old trees in this park. This bird here is called Bin Chicken, as it can get food out of bins. After having a coffee, we walked back to Steven’s apartment.

The plan for the afternoon was the Prison of Fremantle. Fremantle is a suburb of Perth, just at the harbour. We went again by Metro, this time we changed the train at Perth Central Station. Fremantle is the terminal station. Andrew called the Prison for information about the tours. The prison was established in 1850 and closed in 1991. There would be a tour at 15:00, so we had time for some lunch. We found a good place with delicious Asian food for little money. Walking around the city, we stopped for a drink in another location. The streets were really busy around this time, and lots of Bars and Restaurants were here.

Strolling around for a while, then we walked towards the prison.

It was quite interesting to hear what stories happened here. The guide was a good speaker. All in all, a place where you don’t want to be.
