Buen Camino – 21 km – Castrojeriz

Leaving Hornillos del Camino

The landscape is changing again to more beautiful and colourful. Wide crop fields and smooth hills are surrounding me. Walking with Patricia again, she is a really good companion for walking and talking and we are at ease.

I am getting at ease now, feel home on my way, find my inner peace. There are many beautiful people on the Camino from all over the world. Everyone with their own issues, thoughts and feelings. The Camino is a world in itself, when cars are passing it feels like they are in a different time zone. Appreciating the details coming along, sometimes the mud on the ground, a pressure in the neck, different smells along the path.

A warm welcome by Gloria, feels right in this Albergue.

The Dormitory

At 18:00 will be a pilgrim meditation nearby. Curious about it. After it will be time for some nice dinner.

So Patricia and I went down the road where the meditation will be. I thought already there will not be many people. We entered the house, beautiful designed and arranged. A woman came upstairs and welcomed us. Her name is Neha. And yes, we were just 4 people with Neha and her partner. We went upstairs in the Meditation room. The whole situation was simple, we sat down and did 25 min. Vipassana Meditation. Neha said she likes to live a quiet life, and so were all the vibes here. Nice smell, Indian music and silence. Downstairs she has her Atelier where she is painting, and a small green garden with herbs.

After the meditation a walk to the supermarket, some food for tomorrow. And not yet done we went for a nice restaurant, had some zucchini soup, bacalao (codfish) and cheesecake,

On the way to the Albergue there was an event going on, preparing for St. John’s eve tomorrow.
