I feel already better this morning, my nose is not more running. The internet is still working, everything feels good. I want to try something different this morning, breakfast somewhere else. So I am starting my scooter and drive down the road. First stop is Wild Child Cafe. It was already 09:00 but it didn‘t look really open. So I opened the gate and saw nobody, no guests no host. Back to my scooter, down the road. I saw a sign saying Kavin‘s cafe. It‘s on my list already, I got quite some recommendations from Gopika and Jonatan. A small dirty road to the left, just 100 meters. A nice white house, I went some stairs up to the first floor, and there was a nice Restaurant, some tables on the veranda, many inside. And a nice view at the mountain.

I had a good black coffee and toast with onion-tomato-cheese omelette. All good. Two guys and a woman were sitting on the veranda. One guy was quite talking a lot about different things, specially about „Om Namah Shivay“. They were discussing about the meaning. One said Namah means name, in the name of Shiva. The other said it means, not like Shiva or something. Here is one explanation I find more reasonable.
Om Namah Shivay
In general ॐ नमः शिवाय means “I Bow down to Shiva”. In a way, it means bowing down to your own self as Shiva resides in all as own consciousness. The mantra is said to be the five-syllable mantra, na ma si va ya; na represents earth, ma water, si fire, va air, and ya ether.
I personally think these people should look more for their self-realisation and meditation instead of getting lost in these Shiva mantras.
Back to my apartment I thought about what to do now. I decided to walk again up the hill to the caves and Skandasramam, the places where Sri Ramana Maharshi lived and meditated from 1916 – 1923. So I was driving to the Ashram and went straight through the backdoor up the mountain.
People are still begging and selling juices or statues on the way. I reached the Ashram and felt the peace in this place. I went inside and sat down for a meditation for quite a while.

Sri Ramana Maharshi was living in this cave from 1898 – 1916. There are some simple rooms in the cave, it is not as rural as it looks from this side. The meditation room inside felt like a sweat hut, so warm.
On the way back I had again a fresh pomegrate juice. When I came to the backdoor of the Ashram I realised that it was 13:00, means that it is closed until 14:00. My Flip Flops are in the Ashram. So I had to walk barefoot along the Ashram wall. It’s not such a long way, but the asphalt can be quite hot.

Then in the evening I was driving to a petrol station. The price for premium petrol for my scooter is 102.62 rupees (€1.16) per liter. Then to the Ashram, sitting for another meditation and had some dinner in the Dining Hall. After all a delicious chai before driving home.
