Didn‘t sleep much in the bus. Fortunately I will arrive in one hour in Bayonne. Just left San Sebastián. Looks very cloudy here. North Spain is known to have quite some rain.
Happily arrived in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. Got my pilgrims passport, my first stamp and lot of information. First decision to make for tomorrow. Walking up the mountain route or the easier way just around? We found our first hostel, have to wait until 14:00 to open. My first coffee today, feels really good.
Was a nice day here. So I decided to take the more difficult but beautiful route tomorrow and go up the mountain route. Reaches 1400 meters, there will be the walk from France to Spain. Will take 8 hours they say to reach Roncesvalles. Let’s go, hey ho …
