Roadtrip – 25 km – Talbingo

The summer is back! We had a warm afternoon and evening yesterday, and the sky was mostly blue. Today it is 28 degrees. It’s chill-out time. We drove to town, just a few minutes from our house. There was nobody and all the shops were closed. Talbingo’s population was 224 in 2021; now there are 100 inhabitants left. At the Caravan and Camping Ground was a small shop, we got a coffee there and bought a bread.

Talbingo closed down

We drove back, made some sandwiches, and then started exploring the area by car. Andrew grew up around here, in Tumut, which is 40 km from here. The landscape is beautiful, and the lakes were all created with dams for the Snowy Hydro Power Stations.

These pipes are 5,50 in diameter

We had a dip in the lake today. The water is quite refreshing.
