It’s full moon today, and there will be a million people on the road again. The main day for Pradakshina was yesterday, which is just before the full moon. Anyway, I will walk later at 17:00. For now, I will go into the Ashram for a while. The Ashram is quite busy during the full moon, with many visitors from Tamil Nadu and other states. They are preparing for Sri Ramana’s birthday tomorrow. There will be a big celebration. After my Meditation in the Ashram, I crossed the road and had a chai. I met Kirsten, and Jonatan joined soon after. We had a chat for a while. I thought about buying some eggs today. So I went into a supermarket and bought eggs and coconut oil.
Back home, I made some fried eggs with onion, tomato, and cheese. I had a nap for two hours before Sarah messaged me to ask if I would walk the Pradakshina today. Yes, I would, so we met at Sathya’s Cafe and drove down to Chengam Road, where we would start to walk. I wasn’t sure where to park my scooter best, then the police helped me to lift the scooter and park it away from the road. That was a kind action. We started walking, this time I was wearin my Skecher shoes. Last season, I did this barefoot and couldn’t properly walk for the next three days. It was an easy walk, there were just half of the people on the road, compared to yesterday.

We saw a deer and a wild boar behind the fence that surrounds Arunachala.

We stopped having a drink, it’s a tuber. I forgot the name; it was quite complicated. It tasted like a vegetable broth, made with coriander. Sarah bought two bags of this powder.

We kept on walking, not yet half around the mountain. We sat down for a chai and enjoyed watching the people walking. Back on the road, we could see the full orange moon. At our next stop, I had some Paratha, and Sarah had a Dosa. It will take us at least five hours to walk around Arunachala as we are stopping for a break several times. We came into town, there it got busy with cars. We walked on the main road, and we couldn’t see many people walking anymore. When we came to a big junction, there were suddenly lots of people again. I am wondering if they walked on a sideroad.
We stopped again to have a juice, and I had a very sweet rose milk. But not only did we have an ice cream afterwards. I can’t be too strict with myself; it’s good to find the balance.
We reached the big temple, where it got narrow and crowded. We decided to walk on a side road where there was more space. When we reached my scooter at Perumbakkam Road, 5 hours and 30 minutes had passed, it was 22:30. I dropped Sarah at her house, then I went home. It was a good experience again walking the Pradakshina.
