Buen Camino – 24 km – Villafranca del Bierzo

We left our Albergue at 06:30. The hosts were not there over night, so we three were all alone in this house. We got an instruction the day before how to walk back to the Camino. On the way was already an open café called Montecarlo, so I had my first coffee. Li En and Kitty were walking ahead.

Leaving Ponferrada

Takes sometime to leave the town, Ponferrada has 60.000 inhabitants. Nothing special on this morning walk. Vineyards left and right, some hey.

Passing some small villages, Columbrianos and Fuentesnuevas.

I had a break somewhere in the shade, other pilgrims around, some stone tables and benches to eat. Kim, the Korean guy showed up and Chiyang a Korean woman. We talked a while and continued walking. We passed a bigger town, Cacabelos. Was quite busy here. I was in a pharmacy to get some Antihistamine pills for hay fever, but they didn’t have the right stuff. Not even sure if I really have hay fever these days, my nose is just running in the morning. My foot was nearly good in the morning, later I felt it again. After arriving in Villafranca del Bierzo I saw it’s a bit swollen. Patricia gave me some instructions yesterday how to use the Arnika pills.

Less then 200 km are left to Santiago, so I must have walked 600 km already, Still more than 300 km left to Finisterre.
