Buen Camino – 24 km – La Faba

Leaving Villafranca del Bierzo

Early start, people started packing at 05:00 already. It was a hell of noise, couldn’t sleep any more, so I packed as well. Down in the Albergue was a coffee machine, unfortunately no more coffee in. Some will reach O Cebreiro in one day, 29 km. It will be a hard day, rating 4 from 5 stars, up and down.

I am in La Faba now

I decided to stop in one if the villages before O Cebreiro.

I was walking in the morning with Kim. Then Andrew crossed my path, the guy from Australia. Didn’t see him for a while. Also Li En and Kitty I met, they shipped their luggage to Bercianos, not carrying it over the hill, In a Café I met Jung again, a woman from Korea, we had dinner in Foncebadón before. So we continued walking until Las Herrerías. She booked a room before, I was walking in a nice Albergue, but it would only open at 14:00 and it was just 12:00.

Albergue in Las Herrerías

So I decided to continue walking until La Faba. It started already getting higher, quite exhausting to walk, at least shade in the forest. Then I reached La Falba, a beautiful Albergue run by a lovely German couple.

Now I am in town, there is a bar / café, lots of pilgrims, some still continue walking.

I am very happy being here, such a beautiful place, and the Albergue, will be a silent night, we are just 4 people until now.

Just had a refreshing nap. Sitting in the garden now, a tractor is passing by. Soon time to go for dinner in the only bar in town.
