Buen Camino – 26 km – Roncesvalles

Camino Francais

The Camino Francais is the red line. Although it‘s just for one day in France, all other route in Spain. David was walking the route around the mountain today, I walked up over the top, 19 km up and 7 km down, crossing the border from France to Spain. The walk was for 10 hours with breaks. The most exhausting day in my life, and from all life’s. My whole body is aching now. But it was a wonderful experience with the beauty of the nature. I met a nice guy from Ireland and we walked all the way together.

  2. Ola Chandresh, we just got your website from Jack and are enthusiastically looking into your blog and enjoying the wonderful photos!!! Brings so many memories of when we did the Camino! I am so glad you decided to do the big steep mountain walk from St Jean Pied de Port! For us it was also the most exhausting day but so worth the effort as the Nature is so spectacular! And so glad you had a good Irish companion to walk with! Looks like you stayed in the same dormitory we stayed in Roncesvalles with 50 beds!
Buen Camino! big hug from Emma

  3. Brings back all those memories when we did it back in 2005 or was in 06?
The first days are the hardest days, but like in all of life, our bodies adjust to the new strains.
As the days go by your body gets used to the new habit of walking all these kilometers.
Of course a good cup of coffee helps to kick start the morning.
Be mindful of those you meet on the road, there are no co-incdences. This epic journey is like an echo (microcosm) of ones journey through life so far.
Will stay in touch as have to go on Gracie walk.

    • It’s true Riv, the first days are the hardest. My body, legs, back, mind, all good, just the feet are still struggling from all the walking.
