Road trip – 541 km – Border Village

It was pretty cold at night, just 9 degrees. At one point in the night, I put on long pants and a hoodie. Around 06:00, we got up and started packing. We would have a coffee and a toast in the roadhouse. Our trip would last more than 500 km to the border of South Australia.

It was a long road, one stretch would be Australia’s longest straight road for 147 km. We stopped somewhere for a coffee. One stop was close to the ocean, and we walked through dunes and reached the beach. We had to be careful to remember the way, as it looked all the same in the dunes.

At one point, there was a different time zone; it jumped 45 minutes ahead. Reaching Border Village, it jumped 105 minutes ahead. Here is also the summer time, which is not in Western Australia.

We checked into the caravan and camping park for AU$18; the night before in Balladonia, we paid AUD$50. The petrol is always expensive in these outback areas, up to AU$2.80 per liter. I had a shower and now we are sitting in the car because it’s very windy here. It’s now 20:30, it would be just 18:00 before.
