The last morning dawned in Canberra for us. The train would depart at 11:58 from Kingston Station in Canberra. We took the bus from the hotel to Kingston shops and had a good breakfast sitting outside in a Cafe. The weather was beautiful. After breakfast, we walked to Kingston Station. It was only 750 meters. In Australia, you can check in your luggage up to 20 kg per piece. Nice service, so I don’t have to carry it on the train.

Waiting for the train to Sydney

It would take more than four hours to reach Sydney. The drive was comfortable. Andrew got some coffee on the train. It was the first coffee in my life that I saw in a kind of teabag. We got it with a cup of hot water. At 16:30, we reached Sydney Central. On the train, I found out how to get to the hotel by train and bus. The hotel was in the suburb of Strathfield. It was pretty easy, and you don’t have to buy tickets; just using a credit card or phone at the gates is sufficient. The same system was applied in Canberra.

Sydney Central

The hotel is a typical Ibis Budget hotel, simple but sufficient for just sleeping. We arranged ourselves in the room, then went outside for dinner. There was a Lebanese Restaurant close by, Massaya was its name. We ordered some food, and it was really a lot to eat. After that, I was so full that I decided to have just one meal the following day. We walked one kilometer to a bottle shop, and Andrew wanted to buy some wine. It was good to walk after this heavy meal. Back in the hotel, it was time to rest.
