Today I will leave Gopika’s beautiful apartment and move to my new one in Shiva Mantra Residence. The apartment was already cleaned two days ago, I just had to wash the beddings I used. I started the washing machine, but somehow the water was just dripping inside. I remembered one video Gopika sent me, it’s about starting the water pump to fill up the tank on top of the house. It just took 10-15 minutes, and I had enough water. The machine was running, but it always takes much more time than it indicates.
My original plan was to join Satsang with Ganga Maa, but I skipped that. When the washing was finished, I went up to the rooftop to dry the beddings. I packed all my stuff into my suitcase and backpack, just a few things here and there. I left to get petrol for Gopika’s scooter. The tank was nearly empty, so I put petrol in it for 420 Rupees. I had a Thali at Hotel Ananda Ramana before I drove back. While I was eating, Sampath sent me a message that I could pick up my scooter. He sent me photos of which scooter to take from his garage and where I could find the key.
I was walking from the apartment towards Sampath’s garage on Perumbakkam Road. It takes only 15-20 minutes, anyway, good for me to walk a bit more. I met Jonatan at Sathya’s, we walked over to the garage where I got my red scooter, and we also found the key. With my scooter, I was driving towards Post Office Road to get a rickshaw for my suitcase and other bags. I offered 200 Rupees for the transport. There are many Rickshaws available. I asked the driver to follow me to my apartment. As we reached there, he was asking for 300 Rupees. It was OK as it was quite a while to drive, first to my old apartment and then to Shiva Mantra Residence.
We arrived at Shiva Mantra Residence. The Indian lady was there to hand over the key to me. Room 201 would be my new home for a while. I settled in; it felt good to be here and good to be back in Perumbakkam Road. It is quieter here, no construction around.
In the evening, I spent some time in the Ashram, did some shopping in the supermarket and on the street, and had a chai. Back home, I contacted Sarah, and we walked together to Sarala’s for dinner. From here, some Restaurants are within walking distance, so I don’t need my scooter all the time. Pete joined us and a Portuguese lady who just arrived, her name is also Sara. Later, Sarah and Sara, and I walked back. We are all living close by. I will see how my first night feels in my new home.
