This morning, I will join a talk from Nochur in Voice of Rishis. It is an event hall, just very close to Gopika’s apartment. Nochur is talking about Sri Ramana and Arunachala. He is a good speaker and quite funny at times. The talk lasts for 90 minutes, from 09:00 to 10:30. More or less 300 people joined this event.
When I left the hall, I met Alexandru and Daniela. We decided to have a chai opposite the Ashram. We met there when Sarah came out of the Ashram. As we were hungry, it was nearly 12:00 and time for lunch: Hotel Ananda Ramana or the small Restaurant in the Shri Sheshadri Swamigal Ashramam.
While Seshadri Swamigal was a significant figure in the life of Sri Ramana Maharshi, he was not his guru. In fact, Sri Ramana Maharshi is widely regarded as one of the few masters who had no human guru. The relationship between the two was one of deep mutual respect and spiritual companionship.
We went into the Ashram and had a Thali there. For a Thali, you pay only 80 Rupees here; it is simple but good.
Later in the afternoon, I bought a mosquito racket and some cleaning supplies for my apartment. Especially the kitchen and the bathroom needed to be cleaned. I also got a tea towel. There is not much equipment in the kitchen. A kettle, an electric cooker with one plate and a few plastic plates, as well as a wok, a pot and a pan and a few cutlery items.
Sarah was messaging me, and we met to walk over to Sarala’s or Sathya’s Cafe. We chose Sathya’s. They have a simple Dosa. Somehow, they are not taking much care of their service. The first time I asked for a chai and didn’t get it, this time I asked for some chilli to make it spicier. But they forgot.
Time to go home and rest. Gopika asked me to book her a bus ticket from Bangalore (Bengaluru) to Tiruvannamalai. I could manage to book it on the website of Karnataka Bus Booking. Gopika is already in the train, and her BlaBla driver didn’t respond. This kind of service seems to be very unreliable.
