I was joining Satsang with Ammani. It was a bit different this morning. In Tamil Nadu is an ongoing Pongal Festival this morning. So they were meeting at 08:00 with Ammani for Puja, but somehow I missed this information, which is, in a way, quite typical for me. I picked up Sarah this morning, it would be her first time having Satsang with Ammani. Also, Alex came with his bicycle. We arrived five minutes before 09:00 and waited on the ground floor. There was a talk upstairs, and not Yoga. I was wondering why nobody from the usual attendees was here. So after some minutes, I went up, and everybody was sitting there already, and Ammani was talking. We found our place, Ammani was offering us some food, she was cooking for everybody a little dish. We were sitting in silence for one hour then.

On the way back, we stopped at a street stall where Sarah could buy some hairbands. Next stop was the veggie seller at the corner of Perumbakkam Road. I was buying some limes. In Da Mantra Cafe, I had a juice, and Sarah had a cappuccino. There we Matt and he booked us in for the event tonight. There would be live music with some musicians related to Shakti, the band around John McLaughlin. Also, a delicious Italian meal would be served before the concert. We would meet later and go into town.

I had a long nap today, more than two hours. After a while, I picked up Sarah at Da Mantra Gate, and we drove into town. I got some flip flops in the same shop where I bought mine before. I just bought the same and got a discount of 10 Rupees. I thought I was gonna leave the other flip flops in the Ashram, they were too small and not mine, just wrongly taken from there. We were looking for the shop where Sarah bought the school backpack on our Pradakshina. But we couldn’t find it.

Street live in Tiru

The dinner was very delicious and light, with lasagne and salad. The concert at Da Mantra was just amazing, there was an Indian Singer and a Russian Tabla player. Another Indian woman was singing in a traditional Indian style. Everybody was sitting on chairs in front of the stage to have a good view of it.

After the concert, Sarah and I were walking a bit outside, it was already past 22:00. The women and girls were painting new Mandalas for Pongal this night.
