Buen Camino – 26 km – Fisterra
The last day of walking π¦Άπ½It was a very nice walk and landscape. Just some drops of rain then the sun was shining .

Walking feels different when you know it is done, the last day. And it feels very different to reach Fisterra than Santiago. Itβs completing the trip ending up at the ocean.

The Camino de Santiago is full of stories and legends that have been told generation after generation over hundreds of years. One of them is related to a mythological figure known as VΓ‘kner, who is given the appearance of a werewolf that terrorised pilgrims. Now, more than 500 years after the first text that records his existence, a sculpture has been installed in his honour in the municipality of DumbrΓa.

I am coming close. The smell of the ocean.

Exploring Fisterra, walking downtown, along the promenade. Here are pilgrims as well as tourists. Is a beautiful town with old houses, the beach and harbour. In of the restaurants Andrew and I had some dinner, Holly joined us. Two Irish Camino friends as well. Was a funny evening. The others stayed longer for another drink when I left. Then I saw Alex again, a young German from Bavaria. I met him many times on the Camino. He used to sleep outside, started the Camino with β¬13 in his pockets. He has a 20 kg backpack, the last day to Fisterra he was walking 50 km. He is on tour for 2 years already.

Last not least I met Steph again. First time we met in La Faba in this beautiful Albergue with German hosts. This Camino is really connecting people. With Patricia I am still in contact every day. We are part of each others story. β€οΈ
