Death

Fear of death is also a thought whereas death is a natural happening.

I didn’t feel like going to the beach today. Sometimes a change is good. Everybody left in the morning, and I stayed here with the dogs. Wonderful weather as every day here, I am sitting in the garden on my veranda doing some work and reading on my laptop. I am really happy with the laptop I bought in Tiruvannamalai. It’s fast and everything is functional. I am getting used to the US keyboard, usually I owned German keyboards in the past. It’s just missing some special German characters as äöüß, which I can reproduce with the Alt key and some digits on the keyboard.

I am not missing the Portuguese winter here. It is not cold in Portugal, it can be 18-20 degrees in the daytime, and the winter in Goa is 30 degrees. When I look now at Portimão in the Algarve it’s just 16 degrees at daytime and 13 degrees at nighttime. It’s the rainy season in Portugal from October to March, more or less.

For lunch, I left for Mapusa. I tried a thali there for the first time; it is really good and has 11 different dishes. Next, I drove to the supermarket, but again, it was Sunday and closed. Just some hundred meters further there, I found another open market. Last time, I jumped in a shop called Bombay Gourmet, a minimarket. I accidentally bought a liter of raw milk. Kabir knows how to make curd (yogurt) out of it.

I realized that many Westerners are quite old in India, in Tiruvannamalai as in Goa. Old means for me at least at my age, and I am 64 now. Many of these people, like me, have been visiting India for more than 40 years. When I was young and younger, there were many more young people than now. But maybe it is just my perception as I am getting older. More people are now discovering Thailand or Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries in Asia.

In the afternoon I fell asleep as usual, I slept quite long this time, around two hours. When I woke up Bhagwan was sleeping in front of my bed and Akela under my bed. The neighbors are still busy with renovation work, so there is still some loud noise sometimes. I wanted to use my in-ear headphones, but the case was empty. I assume I left them Saturday on the table next to my deckchair. Hopefully, they find and keep them, I will go there on Monday.

The day ended smoothly, there was some rice and dal left and Kabir and I did our Meditation …

Bhagwan & Akela
