The Self
The Self is neither attached nor detached. It is as it is.
They were all gone early in the morning; only Kabir and I are here now. We had our morning Meditation, and Kabir prepared an English breakfast (without sausage and bacon). I stayed home today, even going to the beach; I needed a break. Enjoying the garden and working on my laptop is quite fulfilling. Kabir can’t go anywhere these days, on Saturday the cannula in his neck will be removed in the hospital.
My friend Davina in Portugal gave me a small bottle containing a special herb. You just need one drop of it daily in water. It says ‘One drop for disease-free life’. Its name is ‘Shri Tulsi’. Tulasi is cultivated for religious and traditional medicine purposes, and also for its essential oil. It is widely used as an herbal tea, commonly used in Ayurveda, and has a place within the Vaishnava tradition of Hinduism, in which devotees perform worship involving holy basil plants or leaves. The plant and its oil contain diverse phytochemicals, including tannins, flavonoids, eugenol, caryophyllenes, carvacrol, linalool, camphor, and cinnamyl acetate, among others. One study reported that the plant contains an eponymous family of 10 neolignan compounds called tulsinol A-J. However, I use a drop every morning in a glass of water.
In the afternoon, I did some gardening work. I collected all the big dry leaves from the ground. Many leaves fall from the trees daily. In the end, there was a big pile, ready to be burnt.

In the evening I made some pasta with veggies for us. We were talking about our lives and experiences, as we do many times. At one point Kabir mentioned an idea for a mobile app that is not on the market yet. I said I could probably create it. It’s a beautiful idea, it could be successful, who knows. Anyway, if it is not successful, it will be for sure fun to develop it. I will start with the programming tomorrow.
