Buen Camino – 16 km – Redondela
Always quite a stretch before I am out of the city. I walked again with Gerrit today, his foot got better.
Last night I realised that I couldn’t find the case from my In-Ear-Headphones. I need it to charge it via USB. Couldn’t find it in the morning as well, I was already dreaming about it. In my dream I found it. Gerrit showed up, lifted my mattress, and there was it, under the mattress next to the wall 😄
I found this quite relaxing as I use them for music or watching something in the night. We left the Albergue and slowly through the city, it was quiet and fresh in the morning. After 30 min. I got a little shock when I realised that I forgot my walking stick next to the door in the sleeping room. Guess my mind was just busy with my headphones. What to do? I called the Albergue, but the line was off. I got a taxi and went back to the Albergue. The door was closed after 08:00. I rang 7 times without success. Back with a taxi where Gerrit was waiting with my backpack.
It was hot today, 30 degrees. The walk was most in nature. We met Christiane and Jasmin, two German women, and walked with them for a while.
I was missing my stick today, when walking up or standing and turning, I felt a bit lost 😂
When we entered Redondela we had some lunch and coffee. It’s a bigger town, 30.000 inhabitants. Gerrit‘s Albergue was three kilometres outside of the town, towards Pontevedra. I stayed in town, Albergue parroquial Santiago Apóstol. Very nice here, a welcoming nun in white.
She showed me the time table for the bus to Vigo and called there. The bus terminal was just 5 min. from the Albergue. In Vigo I happily received my stick, had a coffee in town and back to Redondela. Some shopping, nuts, fruits, drinks. Hand Washing clothes and on my bed.
Some people, specially older people (older is always older than me) are busy for long time with their backpacks, I am wondering what they are doing, still their stuff looks like a mess 😂 I just take the stuff out I need and move in my bed.
The thunder just starts and it’s getting windy. There will be some rain soon I guess. More or less sure it will rain tomorrow. Maybe I stay one more day here. Will be also good for my feet. It just starts heavy 🌧️
