Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. ~Rumi~
Today will be a full day. At first, there is Satsang with Kollur Swami. It’s around 20 minutes to drive. Lokesh wanted to join me, so I picked him up on Perumbakkam Road. He didn’t know that we were going there. The plan has changed, as yesterday I thought we had Tuesday and not Wednesday. But he wanted to join, so we were driving there. We reached the Ashram after 09:00. There was still time to sit outside and enjoy the silence. Satsang felt very peaceful. After 30 minutes, it was time for questions. Some people had a question, and Kollur Swami would answer them. After Satsang, there was a line. Whoever wanted to could bow down in front of him and receive some nuts. It’s just a common ceremony for devotees.

It was nice being here the last time for this season. Daniela, Alex, and Goran were also here. The next stop would be Gia Mantra for a swim and lunch. I had to bring back Lokesh to Perumbakkam Road first. I would meet the others at Gia Mantra. Before Perumbakkam Road was a free food street stand, Lokesh asked me to drop him there. I continued then towards Gia Mantra.
Arriving there, I didn’t see them at the pool. They were in the Restaurant area, sitting at a table. A Dutch lady, Djamilla, was joining them. I walked over to the pool first and had a nice swim. The water was very warm, anyway, rejuvenating. After I was back in my clothes, we sat at the table and chatted for a while. At 13:00, lunch was a delicious buffet with a wide variety of dishes. We sat down for a couple of hours before leaving for Om Amma’s Ashram. Dani and Alex didn’t have time, but Goran, Djamilla, and I went there. It is close to Kollur Swami, just next to Greenland Ashram.
We were early, and the gate was still closed. But some minutes later, a Sadhu opened the gate, and we could enter the house. A few people were organizing some flowers as an offering to Om Amma. More and more people entered the room. There was a strange event before Satsang started. I saw a woman moving her hand in front of another woman sitting on the wall. My first thought was a typical healer posture. I didn’t understand why she was doing it here. The Sadhu came and asked her to leave the room, but she resisted. Some words from both sides, the Sadhu said, “No drama here”, and she could stay in the room. I mostly feel a bit of resistance to these self-proclaimed healers. Many just have a big ego. Real healing can only happen through a higher power.
There was an elderly Indian man preparing his harmonium. I have heard later that he is also a vocal teacher. He was beautifully playing and singing during Satsang. And then the Sadhu came from the back door with Om Amma. This was a stunning and a little bit spooky moment for me. She was very, very old.

Om Amma couldn’t walk by herself, and I was not sure if she was blind. When she sat down, she started slowly moving her hands. Her body started moving as well, until she was in full rhythm with the music and chanting. Her eyebrows were moving up and down. This was the moment when I realised that there was conscious life in her, and she was enjoying it. I have heard that she has been in a constant state of Samadhi since she was very young. I couldn’t find much history about her yet. Om Amma was only for 30 minutes there, then the Sadhu brought her back into her room. The music continued for a while; it was a strong experience for me, and the room was full of her energy.
Goran, Djamilla, and I were standing for a while outside and watching Arunachala.

It was nearly sunset and a beautiful evening. We were planning to drive to Wild Child for a chai. Reaching there, we had a chai and then walked over towards Sarala’s Cafe for a Dosa or soup. It was a beautiful, mesmerizing day.
