Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it. ~Albert Einstein~
Today is Saturday. As there is no Satsang with Ammani on Saturdays, I joined Satsang with Ganga Maa. It’s been a while since I was here.
Question: Why is there so much inequality on this planet? Is it maya or God’s creation?
Amma: It is the way it is. Nothing is equal here. We are trying to make something equal which cannot be equal. Its uniqueness has to be accepted. We are trying to make what is different into one. Here prakriti is divided — it has varieties, it has uniqueness — and that uniqueness has to be accepted. A dog cannot be a cat. If you try to make everything a dog, it is difficult.
In its own base, everything here — even human beings — each one’s interests, attitudes, habits, everything is different. But we want to make it one. Communism — it is not possible. Nothing is equal here. That has to be accepted.
If you try to make a person like someone else, it will not be real. Anything in this relative plane cannot be the same. Accepting this will give you equal vision — not the other way.
A young family then came forward to Amma for Aksharabhyasam. After greetings, the smallest child sat on Amma’s lap and together they wrote the Om symbol on a small chalkboard, Amma blessing the child’s introduction to reading and learning as part of this traditional ceremony.
It was very touching to see how well-behaved the children were.
After Satsang, I met Jonatan outside. He joined the Satsang as well. We met at The Inner Child Restaurant for a coffee. It’s nice to visit all these places before I go back to Portugal.
Leaving the restaurant, I stopped at the SBI ATM and got money for the last time. I have to pay Sampath for the scooter. It’s for 55 days, costing 150 Rupees, which equals 8.250 Rupees. Then I stopped for a coconut; it feels like I am doing everything for the last time this season. Who knows when I will be back? I was hungry and had a Thali at the Restaurant from Hotel Ananda Ramana. On the way back home, I stopped at Sampath’s garage and gave him the money. He said a friend would pick Karuna and me up on the 4th at 2 am.
I had a nap, and later in the afternoon I drove to the Ashram. It was too late for the reading, but I spent time meditating there and listening to the chanting and singing. I bought some little presents for friends in Portugal. It was enough for today, then. I had bread and cheese to eat, and didn’t go out anymore.
