Buen Camino – 20 km – Pontevedra

Leaving Redondela

I woke up around 06:00 and some people started packing. It was actually not more raining. So what to do? I wasn’t in the mood to stay one more night in Redondela. So I got up, packed my things and started the day..

Walking in forest

It was very humid and started to drizzle. My backpack was already covered by his poncho, I was expecting rain.

All cloudy

On the way I Met Anja today, a German woman from Bavaria. We walked together until Pontevedra.

Soutomaior

Nothing spectacular happened today, it was quite relaxed, drizzling all the way, not enough to cover myself in a poncho.

Green

We had a rest in a café near Pontevedra, it’s always a pleasure just to sit and have a drink.

Reaching the Albergue in Pontevedra

Some people were sitting in front of the Albergue, waiting to checkin. The last one was Martina, I met some days before. She slowed down now as she has enough time time now, there are just three days left. Maybe I will do it in four days, will see.

Checkin
36 people in this room tonight

I was just a bit Food shopping in town and had a coffee. When I came back I was invited to have some Risotto, a Korean woman has cooked it. We were eating with some people.

She was on the Camino Francés just before and did it in 28 days to Santiago, I needed 38 days, 4 more to Finisterre.

There is an option to walk from here to Armenteira. From there to Vilanova de Arousa and then by boat next to Padron. From there it’s one more day to Santiago.

39 km is an old convent where it should be possible to stay one night, I have to find out.

Convent of Santo Antonio de Herbon
