Jnani
The Jnani is full and empty at the same time. He is totally empty of the mind and full of Brahman.
I slept well the first night in my new residence ‘The Peppermint’ in Kandy. When I look out of my window I look at the jungle. I can hear the flow of the river nearby. After reading a bit and learning Portuguese I left my room and went upstairs to the big veranda.

I sat down and Pringi offered me a coffee. We were sitting there and talked for a while. She had some suggestions on where to have breakfast or dinner in Kandy and other good tips. I downloaded the PickMe app, it works like the Uber app. You can choose to get picked up by Tuk Tuk, bike, or car. Going to Kandy town will be only 200-300 Rupees, less than €1. I chose a Tuk Tuk and after less than 10 minutes was in town. ‘Devon Bakers Best’ was the choice of this morning. You get all sorts of buns with vegetables, egg, fish or chicken, also fish patties are available. It’s just the Nescafe I will never have again. It’s from a machine, sugar is automatically added, tastes terrible.

After breakfast I walked around, there was a market on Saturday, and lots of vegetables and fruits. Just connected is an inside market like a bazaar.

Continuing with my walk I bought some nuts, salted crackers, and oranges. It is very busy in Kandy, especially at the weekend. A lot of traffic and buses and buses from all over the area. Kandy is the capital of this district. When I had enough I booked another Tuk Tuk with the PickMe app and left home. I like this system, you don’t have to negotiate for the fare. If you don’t know the prices they are easily charging 1000 Rupees instead of 200, same game all over the world …
People are very friendly and welcoming in Sri Lanka. It feels different than in India. Not that they are not friendly in India, but the vibes are different here. Also here are hardly any beggars, I have just seen two in Kandy yet. And surprisingly the roads and shops are clean here. Here is no plastic flying around everywhere. People are not throwing their waste everywhere.
Back home I was writing my blog and working on other things, then I had Siesta, time for a nap. Later I was sitting on the veranda again before I left again for dinner. Pringi suggested taking a bike instead of a Tuk Tuk. So I did, somebody came with his bike, gave me a helmet, and we drove back to town. He dropped me off at the KCC, Kandy City Center. A shopping mall which you find all over the world in a similar style.

There were several Restaurants in a restricted area. You get a plastic card, pass the barrier and can choose what to eat and drink, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Thai … I chose Chinese for this day, tomorrow I will find a local Restaurant with local food. At the exit, they scan your card and you can pay.
When I left the Restaurant area I walked outside and was close to the lake in Kandy. Quite a nice view looking over this lake.

I got another bike to bring me home. The rest of the day was just reading and watching movies or series.
